How to eat a lobster

Twist off the lobster's claws.

Twist off the lobster's claws

Remove the small part of the lobster claw by twisting.

Crack the claws with a seafood cracker.

Peel away the cracked parts of the lobster's shell, and remove the meat from the lobster's claws.

You can use a small seafood fork, or your fingers.

Twist the lobster tail off the body.

(In a restaurant, the following step will probably already be done for you.)

Turn the lobster tail over.

With a knife (or pair of kitchen scissors as shown here) make a cut between the legs. There are two wonderful pockets of lobster tail meat underneath on each side.

Using a fork, or your fingers if you wish, remove the lobster tail from the shell.
